Digital Matter
Strategy Consultant
The Company
At Digital Matter, we’re at the forefront of data and media innovation, empowering brands to take full control of their digital marketing. Through cutting-edge strategies in business transformation, privacy-focused data solutions, and dynamic digital media buying, we help our clients achieve breakthrough success in an ever-evolving marketing landscape.
We’re looking for polymaths: forward-thinkers who are adaptable, curious, resilient, and empathetic. Many of our clients are iconic fashion and retail brands, but we're scaling and diversifying across industries. Join us in transforming the marketing and media landscape.
The Role
As a Strategy Consultant, you will play a key role in tackling complex business challenges, working in small, high-performing teams (typically 3-5 consultants) to deliver data-driven insights and strategic recommendations. You’ll engage directly with clients, helping to break down ambiguous problems, analyze key drivers, and synthesize findings into clear, actionable solutions.
In this role, you will contribute across the full engagement lifecycle—from structuring analytical approaches to crafting client-ready deliverables—while benefiting from hands-on coaching from experienced leaders. You’ll refine your strategic thinking and problem-solving toolkit alongside colleagues with backgrounds at McKinsey, EY-Parthenon, Google, and TikTok, as well as industry experts in marketing and digital transformation.
To foster collaboration and team connectivity, we offer a hybrid work model with three days per week in our Manhattan office.
Responsibilities
Support client engagements by conducting in-depth analyses, synthesizing insights, and contributing to strategic recommendations that drive high-value outcomes.
Own discrete workstreams within broader projects, ensuring deliverables align with client goals, timelines, and strategic objectives.
Break down complex, ambiguous problems using structured thinking, leveraging multiple data sources to develop forecasts, actionable plans, and data-driven insights under tight deadlines.
Develop high-impact materials, including clear, visually compelling PowerPoint presentations and robust Excel models, effectively communicating findings and recommendations to client teams.
Contribute to the implementation of new processes and capabilities, supporting both Digital Matter and client teams in improving operational efficiency and market positioning.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university with a strong academic record; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
2+ years of experience at a top consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or similar), with a proven track record of achievement and impact.
Deep understanding of marketing strategy, digital media, and consumer insights, ideally with experience in fashion, apparel, retail, or luxury industries.
Ability to structure and solve complex, ambiguous business problems, leveraging data analysis, quantitative methods, and strategic thinking.
Exceptional communication skills—strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities, with the confidence to engage and influence C-suite stakeholders.
Experience working with brand positioning, customer acquisition, retention, or performance marketing, with a strong analytical and strategic approach.
Proven ability to manage projects in fast-paced, high-growth environments, delivering results under tight timelines.
