Strategy Development Manager

Main Function:
The Strategy Development Manager is responsible for driving the development and continuous refinement of CB Group's corporate and divisional strategies. The role works closely with business leaders across the Group to identify growth opportunities, address strategic challenges, assess market and industry trends, and translate business insights into clear strategic priorities.
The incumbent leads the annual strategy formulation process, facilitates strategic planning sessions, conducts internal and external analyses, and develops recommendations that support sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term competitiveness. The role ensures that strategic decisions are informed by data, aligned with the Group's vision, and responsive to changes in the business environment, customer needs, and industry dynamics.
As a key member of the Strategy Management Office, the Strategy Development Manager helps shape the future direction of the Group by ensuring that the right strategic choices are identified, evaluated, and prioritized before being transitioned for execution.
Strategy Development & Planning
- Lead the development and periodic review of CB Group's corporate and divisional strategies.
- Facilitate strategic planning workshops, retreats, and business planning sessions.
- Partner with business leaders to identify strategic priorities, opportunities, risks, and growth initiatives.
- Develop strategic frameworks, business cases, and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
- Conduct environmental scanning, market research, competitor analysis, and trend monitoring to inform strategy development.
Strategic Alignment & Integration
- Ensure alignment between corporate strategy, divisional strategies, and departmental objectives.
- Support business units in translating strategic priorities into measurable objectives and initiatives.
- Promote consistency in strategic planning methodologies and approaches across the Group.
Strategy Communication & Engagement
- Develop and coordinate strategy communication plans to ensure the Group's strategy remains visible, understood, and top of mind across all levels of the organization.
- Lead strategy branding, awareness campaigns, activations, and engagement initiatives that reinforce strategic priorities and desired behaviours.
- Develop strategy-related content, presentations, newsletters, toolkits, videos, and communication materials.
- Partner with Corporate Communications, People & Culture, and business leaders to embed the strategy into the employee experience.
Strategy Governance & Systems
- Serve as the administrator and business owner for Cascade, ensuring corporate, divisional, and departmental strategies are accurately maintained within the platform.
- Ensure strategic objectives, measures, initiatives, and ownership assignments are updated and aligned within Cascade.
- Provide training and support to users of Cascade and promote effective utilization across the Group.
- Maintain strategy documentation, templates, frameworks, and planning tools.
Strategic Insights & Reporting
- Prepare strategic reports, presentations, and updates for Executive Leadership, the Corporate Management Team, and the Board.
- Monitor external developments and emerging trends that may impact the Group's strategic direction.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in strategy development, business planning, management consulting, corporate planning, or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience facilitating strategic planning sessions, leadership workshops, and business reviews.
- Experience conducting market research, environmental scanning, and strategic analysis to support decision-making.
- Experience developing and communicating corporate and divisional strategies.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strategy management platforms such as Cascade.
