Supplier Quality Engineer

TLDR

Drives supplier quality and compliance across a global supply base through audits, RCCA, and data-driven improvements in collaboration with sourcing teams.

Accountabilities:
  • Collaborate with suppliers and sourcing teams to support supplier quality activities under the guidance of senior SQE leadership.
  • Manage and resolve non-conformance and Material Review Board (MRB) issues using established quality systems and processes.
  • Apply quality engineering tools such as audits, sampling plans, SPC, MSA, FAI, FMEA/PFMEA, calibration systems, and contract reviews to analyze and resolve supplier issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (RCCA) to address quality issues in the supply base.
  • Maintain and update supplier quality records, including audit reports, certifications, and corrective action documentation.
  • Monitor supplier performance using available data and execute scheduled audits for assigned suppliers.
  • Support supplier selection and ongoing supplier management in coordination with sourcing teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality and process reliability.

  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
    • 5–7 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or process control roles.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier quality systems.
    • Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, QS-9000, or TS-16949.
    • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
    • Detail-oriented, self-driven, and capable of working with moderate supervision in a dynamic environment.
