Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Supply/Material planner to join our team. The Supply and Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods to support customer demand and business objectives. This role develops supply and inventory plans, manages material requirements, coordinates with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and drives inventory optimization while maintaining target service levels.

The position plays a key role in balancing demand, supply, inventory, capacity, and cost across the end-to-end supply chain.

This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. 

Key Responsibilities

Supply Planning

  • Develop and maintain supply plans that align with demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory targets.
  • Convert demand plans into executable supply plans while considering capacity and supply constraints.
  • Monitor and manage supply performance to ensure product availability and customer service objectives are achieved.
  • Identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Material Planning

  • Generate and manage material requirements plans (MRP).
  • Ensure timely procurement and replenishment of raw materials, packaging materials, and components.
  • Review material shortages and coordinate corrective actions with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support operational requirements without creating excess inventory.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory health, safety stock, reorder points, and inventory targets.
  • Optimize inventory investment while maintaining desired service levels.
  • Analyze excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and execute reduction plans.
  • Manage inventory balancing across warehouses and distribution centers.

Supplier and Procurement Coordination

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.
  • Track supplier performance, lead times, and delivery commitments.
  • Escalate supply disruptions and support recovery plans.
  • Participate in supplier reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, New Products Development, Procurement, Logistics, Customer Service, and Finance teams.
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
  • Communicate material constraints, inventory risks, and supply opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Support new product launches, promotions, and discontinuations.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Monitor and report key supply chain metrics and inventory performance.
  • Develop recommendations to improve planning processes and inventory productivity.
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters within ERP and planning systems.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive initiatives to improve service levels, inventory turns, planning accuracy, and working capital performance.
  • Support process standardization and automation efforts.
  • Help investigate inventory discrepancies and work cross-functionally to reconcile the differences.
  • Support inventory transfers between suppliers, fillers, warehouses, and third-party logistics partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in Supply Planning, Material Planning, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain Operations.
  • Experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, retail, or industrial products preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with planning tools such as Anaplan, SAP IBP, Kinaxis RapidResponse, Blue Yonder, OMP, o9, or Anaplan.
  • Knowledge of supply chain analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

What We Offer   

$70,000/yr - $85,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus plan based on individual and company performance.
