As the SVP, Infrastructure and Operations you will be a senior strategic technologist and thought leader, reporting to the CDO. The SVP Infrastructure & Ops is  technologists, has exceptional leadership skills and expertise in managing multiple company wide tech operations projects. You will get to work with technical staff from multiple disciplines, as a highly collaborative cross-functional partners.  As a leader you will  oversee a staff of over 100 people in a company of 3,000 employees. This is an advisory position that interact with senior executives, as a collaborative thought leader across the enterprise. In addition, you will partner with the CTO, the CISO, Product Management, and engineering to envision and execute on strategic technology initiatives. A personal commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is also essential for success in this role.

 

You will be responsible for building successful stakeholder relationships with other Innovation and business leaders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring secure and cost-effective delivery of IT services leveraging both on-premise and cloud solutions and capabilities to meet those needs.

 

As a key member of the senior Innovation leadership team this role contributes to the development and execution of the

Enterprise-wide Innovation strategy and is responsible for ensuring Infrastructure & Operation’s mission, vision, and strategy is fully aligned to delivering compelling business value.

What you will get to do:

  • Leverage Cloud and DevOps expertise to drive the modernization of our Infrastructure Operations.
    • An expert in the application of cloud-first competencies around elasticity, high availability, and automation to the design and architecture of our software and services infrastructure.
    • Drive a more proactive engineering mindset by instilling Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) competency to operations.
    • Work with business & technology stakeholders to successfully lead our cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
  • Secure Berkadia’s operating environments, ensuring compliance to all applicable policies and controls as defined in partnership with the CISO.
    • Security must be paramount and second-nature to all software development and engineering activities. Perpetual engagement and alignment with Development, Data, Security, and Risk & Compliance is required to ensure that security is implemented and enforced.
    • Infrastructure and Physical security must protect Berkadia assets while maintaining minimal impact to business operations
    • Implement security principles that proactively detect and neutralize threats.
  • Make our customer service / helpdesk operations world-class.
    • Ensure a predictable, measurable, and enjoyable customer service experience for Berkadia employees and customers.
  • Operate a financially efficient organization through proactive planning activities, always working with our vendors, partners and customers to discover their needs and structure the work to maximize business value.
    • Work with our Finance and Procurement Teams to establish fiscally advantageous sourcing strategies for hardware, software, and technology acquisitions.
    • Proactive monitoring of technology spend to ensure budgets are set accordingly and costs fall within budget.
  • Lead project and engineering management to ensure initiatives meet customer needs, are delivered on-time, on-budget and are high quality.
    • Ensure project management prioritizes the highest business value, partners with appropriate stakeholders, and communicates broadly throughout the company.
    • Ensure Infrastructure engineering implements world-class solutions according to architectural specifications and that the status of work is being logged and communicated throughout.
    • Drive annual disaster recovery planning process to ensure critical systems are backed up appropriately and can recover from failures with minimal impact to the business.
    • Ensure systems and applications are monitored and kept up-to-date and in compliance with best practices.
  • Oversee an infrastructure architecture team and ensure that designs meet the 5 pillars of the Well-Architected framework (operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization) and are scalable over time.
  • As a member of the senior Innovation leadership team, be able to clearly articulate the mission and vision of the organization.
    • Inspire and motivate teams to pursue company goals.
    • Effectively work across multiple site and time zones.
    • Champion a performance-driven culture that is highly accountable at all levels and incentivizes top performers to become even better.
    • Build partnerships across the organization and leverage these relationships to operate more effectively.
    • Hire, retain, and grow top talent.
    • Willingness to take on other duties as needed and assigned.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • 15+ years of experience in managing technology in most or all of the following areas: project management, infrastructure architecture, email and collaboration tools, server and storage technology, networking, help desk, end user support, cloud computing environments, identity management, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams of up to 100+ employees across multiple discipline
  • Deep understanding and experience in cloud technologies and transformation, AWS and/or Azure Cloud Certification a Plus++
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time 
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
