Takealot - Junior Commercial Manager

takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Takealot Supplier Business team in Cape Town.

 This position reports to the Head of Supplier Business

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop a thorough understanding of supplier agreements and trading terms.
• Negotiate, document supplier (current & future) trading terms in line with business strategy.
• Manage key relationships with Retail, Product, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, and Supplier Support teams.
• Identify, and solve issues with regards to rebates documenting and billing and assist in process improvement as needed.
• Manage conditional rebates tracking, billing and re-negotiations ensuring rebates are claimed in a timely manner.
• Work collaboratively internally and externally to resolve trading terms disputes.
• Prepare and resubmit missed rebates billing and support to develop the corrective actions to avoid future occurrences.
• Strict adherence to all compliance & legislative requirements

Qualification & Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience as a Commercial Analyst
• BTech/ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Management or Bachelor’s degree
• Proven experience and passion for working across functions across various business levels, synthesizing multiple points of view and owning a coherent action plan, all while negotiating and influencing others
