Tech Manager
TLDR
Lead engineering teams across multiple squads to ensure delivery excellence, bridge engineering with product and business stakeholders, and drive automation and agile process improvements.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers through 1:1s, feedback sessions, performance evaluations, and career planning.
- Ensure team health and engineering culture focused on collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product Owners to define, plan, and execute the roadmap with predictability and delivery quality.
- Own and evolve engineering processes, agile practices, and software delivery workflows across squads.
- Act as the main bridge between technical teams, product, business stakeholders, and leadership.
- Support technical decision-making, remove blockers, and elevate engineering standards across the team.
- Track and analyze engineering metrics such as lead time, cycle time, throughput, and reaction time.
- Ensure compliance with critical operational and regulatory processes within required deadlines.
- Prepare regular reports and updates for senior leadership.
- Prior experience as a software engineer, with strong technical understanding of modern engineering practices.
- Proven experience as a Tech Manager or Engineering Manager, including people management, 1:1s, and performance feedback.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices including code review, pair programming, and mob programming.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and delivery pressure.
- Strong analytical mindset with familiarity in engineering metrics and process optimization.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and drive operational improvements.
- Nice to have: fintech or financial services experience, observability/telemetry exposure, SQL/query skills, and experience using AI tools to improve productivity.
- Strong leadership mindset with the ability to develop junior engineers and support cross-squad collaboration.
