Technical Business Analyst
TLDR
Bridge business and engineering to translate complex needs into actionable technical requirements, shape the backlog in Agile, and influence design and delivery across distributed teams.
- Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business and product requirements, ensuring shared understanding of desired outcomes.
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into clear, structured technical specifications and user stories for engineering teams.
- Own, refine, and prioritise the product backlog in collaboration with product owners and engineering leads.
- Create and maintain process flows, system diagrams, user journeys, and other documentation to support solution clarity and alignment.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as refinement and planning sessions to ensure effective delivery and shared understanding across teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, QA, and stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Continuously improve analysis, documentation, and delivery processes to enhance cross-functional efficiency.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar technical/functional analysis role within software development environments.
- Strong ability to elicit, define, validate, and document complex requirements across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex business challenges into structured solutions.
- Proven experience working in Agile environments and contributing to iterative delivery cycles.
- Familiarity with APIs, web services, and modern software architectures is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under time constraints.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams in a product-driven or platform-based organisation.
