The Consumer Engineering organization delivers end-to-end experiences for new and existing members, as well as tools, platforms, applied research, and frameworks for our device, billing, and gaming partners.
Consumer Server Foundations (CSF) provides core foundational services (identity & access management, federated API delivery, data access & capture, and product messaging) that enable product innovation teams to integrate with the Netflix platform in a consistent, secure, scalable, and efficient manner. These opinionated solutions are leverageable across all of the consumer product vertical domains (and beyond). Our cross-functional approach spans systems and organizational boundaries, ensuring leverage and healthy technology lifecycles across our product systems and experiences.
This Technical Program Manager (TPM) will drive large cross-functional programs impacting many teams both within the Consumer Server Foundations organization and across Consumer Engineering. The TPM will develop partnerships with product management, engineering, and peer technical program managers.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple cross-functional programs, in collaboration with product management, engineering, design, and data science.
- Provide deep domain expertise to form technical strategies with engineering partners.
- Drive engagement with partners, work to decompose requirements into technical execution plans with measurable milestones, effectively optimize scope and schedule, manage cross-functional dependencies, and proactively manage risks.
- Craft clear communication of progress toward goals, reporting status to stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical program management experience
- Proven experience driving large-scale software projects, managing the definition of technical strategies, and building long-term scalable solutions
- Deep understanding and point of view with system development lifecycle and processes
- Highly skilled, experienced, and enjoys orchestrating multiple programs with many moving parts
- Proven ability to create partnerships with cross-functional teams, influencing strategy and roadmaps
- Able to identify gaps in solutions, debate technical approaches and weigh in on product vs. technology tradeoffs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience
- Self-starter who enjoys tackling 0 to 1 problem spaces and quickly bringing organization and direction
