The Trader assists in driving sales and provides administrative support in the component of Capital Markets for RF Merchant Bank & Trust (Barbados) Limited.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with walk in clients to assess their investment needs.
- Provide clients with information regarding investments in order to make informed decisions.
- Accept instructions from clients for the sale and purchase of investments and trade on the local exchange
- Process Margin Loans in accordance with guidelines
- Assist with the preparation of margin loan reports
- Monthly analysis of margin loans and the monitoring and following up of delinquent account
- Preparation of Monthly Account reconciliations –BCSD to client portfolios
- Promote and distribute various investment products of the Company
- Solicits new account holders and attains established sales targets
- Assist with preparation and distribution of local and regional trade and international confirmations to clients
- Follow up on the preparation of BCSD Trade Settlements and client payments
- Preparation and posting of all trade and settlement related transactions
- Liaise with Analyst to ensure the preparation and dissemination of company specific research (buy sell hold recommendation) as well as trading reports and trading ideas to clients
- Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the local and regional markets.
- Ensure BSE billings are paid monthly, including contingency payments.
- Assist with the preparation and review of portfolio statements for Investment management clients
- Any other related duties that may be assigned
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is a strong asset
- 2-3 years’ experience in investment banking
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and customer service skills
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication
- Microsoft Office proficiency
