Treasury Analyst

Mission

The Treasury Analyst is responsible for the daily management of treasury activities within EDF Luminus (financial forecasts, liquidity management, hedging of risks related to exchange rates and interest rates) in accordance with group procedures and best practices.

The Treasury Analyst is required to support various projects and initiatives related to working capital management, challenge existing processes with the goal of improving the cash position of the company and the group, and provide expertise in finance and cash management to support the business.


Responsibilities

Cash Position Management:

  • Optimizes EDF Luminus's cash position, ensures an adequate cash balance at all times, and prepares daily reporting on the position and internal transfers (cash pooling).
  • Manages the cash position of EDF Belgium.
  • Manages the cash of subsidiary companies of EDF Luminus for which cash management is centralized at EDF Luminus.

Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Risk Management:

  • Optimizes the foreign exchange position of the companies (related to transactions in the energy market, investments, etc.) and hedges this position in accordance with company and group rules and procedures.
  • Manages the position and risk related to interest rates in accordance with company and group rules and procedures.

Off-Balance Sheet Commitments:

  • Issues the necessary bank guarantees.
  • Monitors the issued bank guarantees and related costs.
  • Reports off-balance sheet commitments related to treasury to the accounting department and the group.

Financial Results:

  • Optimizes financial results.
  • Prepares forecasts for financial results.
  • Analyzes deviations between financial result forecasts and actual results.

Cash Flow:

  • Responsible for 12-month cash flow forecasts: gathering forecasts from various departments contributing to the process (taxes, controlling, retail, etc.), challenging received data, analyzing deviations, reporting, optimizing the process, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Controlling department for long-term cash flow forecasts.
  • Optimizes the balance sheet and income statement through proper debt and working capital management.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve working capital with the aim of increasing and optimizing the company's cash position.

Relationships with EDF Luminus Subsidiaries:

  • Ensures the necessary cash flows to contribute to the development of EDF Luminus subsidiaries (credit lines, etc.).
  • Manages treasury relationships with subsidiaries.
  • Provides timely support for the treasury management of subsidiaries (where treasury management is not centralized at EDF Luminus).
  • Forecasts and monitors the costs of the treasury department.
  • Development and implementation of reports related to treasury activities in accordance with best practices.
  • Maintains regular contact with bank partners.
