About the role:
As a UI/UX Design manager at NIUM, you'll be responsible for the experiences our B2B customers have from the first touch point of our developer community to onboarding as a new customer all the way to the portals that our customers and internal stakeholders use every day. You'll ensure our customer is represented in every aspect of the services we deliver and will be a leader in user-centered design practices. In addition, you will be a key member of the team to advise us as we roll out any forward-facing online presence either as customer experience, education, or lead generation. Flexibility, communication, and a willingness to learn are of the highest importance.
Requirements
What you will do:
- A track record of producing or helping others produce highly usable and visually appealing product experiences
- Drive the value of design creating documents, standardizing best practices for others to leverage and directly driving UX strategies for people, process, and product
- Communicate and connect with your peers in UX, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing in order to share learnings, align priorities, and identify opportunities for improvements to process or people.
- Foster an inclusive team culture, running a strong customer-focused design process, and being a thought partner to product leaders in defining a bold vision for our product experiences.
- Break down complex problems, write and test hypotheses, craft success measures, and thoughtfully iterate from minimal lovable to mature, best-in-class product experiences.
- Possess a strong grounding in product thinking and solid visual skills to be able to manage end to end design processes
- Lead design projects in cross-functional agile teams
- Create user flows, anticipating edge cases and errors
- Deliver designs that simplify complexity, with a strong eye for detail
- Actively contribute to our standards and style guide
- Iterate on designs and testing, incorporating data into your design process and evolving our understanding of customer needs and behavior
- You'll influence product strategy and execute design work with a high level of polish, and understand how to solve a range of product challenges across web, and email, providing design direction and pushing the quality of the design work
- You'll define the design process and be accountable for business outcomes
- You'll build relationships with cross functional team members and executives and effectively speak to process, design goals and team vision
What You'll Bring :
- Experience. 5+ years of UX Design
- Excellent Communication. Ability to present and explain user flows and designs to stakeholders, engineers, and product
- Adaptability. The ability to learn quickly, test new things, and thrive in ambiguity; incorporating feedback and data into your work along the way
- Startup Experience. Experience in a fast-moving FinTech startup is a plus
- You are a skilled leader in UX design at high growth firms, and you are able to show how you have raised the bar to delight customers and helped build the business
- You have a proven track record of being an influential design leader, working with your peers to define a holistic strategy, requirements, and experiments
- You have the ability to paint a long-term vision of where we should go as a company, but also have the ability to strategically approach design through A/B testing in the short-term. You view data as inspiration and embrace North Star metrics
- You know how to accelerate team efficiency by improving processes and workflows within the design team and cross-functional teams. You can also dive deep into the design work, and roll up your sleeves to get the designs done when necessary
- You have a proven track record of being able to balance ambiguity, fast iterative sprints, business awareness, technology, organizational agility, research and data insights, and high design quality to ship great products.
- Work in Figma, and other software as needed for prototyping and presentations
- The UI/UX Design Manager will report into our VP of Product Experience.
