VFX Executive Producer
The Role
Outpost VFX is seeking an experienced and driven Executive Producer to lead key client relationships and oversee the successful delivery of major VFX projects. The EP is responsible for the commercial, creative, and operational success of shows, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest artistic standards.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong industry relationships, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of VFX production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with studios, producers, and key stakeholders
- Drive bidding strategy and lead negotiations for new projects
- Identify and secure new business opportunities in film, TV, and streaming
- Represent Outpost VFX externally at industry events and client meetings
Project Oversight
- Oversee multiple VFX productions from initial bid through final delivery
- Partner with VFX Supervisors and Producers to ensure creative alignment and execution
- Monitor project scope, budgets, and schedules to ensure profitability and efficiency
- Manage client expectations and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle
Commercial & Financial Management
- Lead bidding processes, including cost estimation and margin management
- Ensure projects meet financial targets and studio KPIs
- Approve budgets, track financial performance, and mitigate risks
- Work closely with finance teams on forecasting and reporting
Leadership & Team Collaboration
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to VFX Producers and production teams
- Collaborate with Heads of Department to ensure resource planning aligns with project demands
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and creative excellence
- Act as a senior escalation point for production challenges
Requirements
- Extensive experience in VFX production, with proven experience at Executive Producer or Senior Producer level
- Strong track record of delivering high-end VFX for film and/or episodic content
- Established network of industry contacts and clients
- Excellent commercial awareness, including budgeting and negotiations
- Deep understanding of VFX pipelines, workflows, and production processes
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple high-pressure projects simultaneously
- Experience working with international teams and clients is highly desirable
- Experience working across multiple territories or studios
