Vice President Engineering (m|w|d)

As Vice President Engineering, you will lead idealo's Engineering organization of 150+ engineers and help shape its next phase of growth and evolution. Working closely with the CTPO and partnering with Product, Data and Platform leadership, you will strengthen engineering effectiveness, develop leaders and build a high-performing organization. 

About your new role 

• Lead and develop a 150+ engineer organization through multiple leadership layers. 

• Drive organizational effectiveness, accountability and a high-performance engineering culture. 

• Improve engineering execution, delivery predictability and operational excellence. 

• Evolve our engineering operating model and scale the organization for future growth. 

• Coach and develop engineering leaders, enabling them to increase their impact and effectiveness. 

• Partner closely with Product leadership to align customer value, business goals and engineering execution. 

• Support technical leaders in making sustainable architectural and technology decisions. 

• Leverage metrics, feedback loops and emerging technologies, including AI, to continuously improve how Engineering operates and delivers value. 

Requirements

Skills & Requirements

• Proven experience leading larger engineering organizations through managers and senior engineering leaders. 

• Track record of scaling and transforming engineering organizations in modern technology companies. 

• Experience building high-performing teams and raising organizational performance standards. 

• Strong understanding of software engineering, architecture and modern cloud-native environments. 

• Strong people leadership skills with a passion for developing engineering leaders. 

• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on organizational leadership when required. 

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to align, inspire and influence across the organization. 

Nice to have 

• Experience in consumer technology, e-commerce, marketplaces or other large-scale digital products. 

• Experience leading organizations through significant transformation or change.
