ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
JUUL Labs is searching for a Vice President QA-Supply Chain, to join our Quality team. Reporting to the Vice President of Quality, this role is responsible for setting the vision, strategic planning, corporate methods, implementation, management, execution, and continuous improvement of the quality system for the JUUL Labs Supply chain. With Quality System Regulation (§21 CFR 820) and ISO 13485 compliance being foremost, these are responsibilities in addition to any applicable Federal and State compliance requirements specifically for Tobacco products.
Within a framework of ISO 13485:2016 and FDA 21 CFR parts 820 / 210 / 211, this role will ensure the necessary written policies and procedures required for establishment of a Quality System suitable for FDA regulated electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) are established and maintained both within JUUL and at all of our Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers. In this role, the Vice President QA-Supply Chain will also serve as the company expert regarding the compliance status of our supply chain.
Responsibilities include:
- 25%-50% global travel to serve as the key business representative in various governance committees, with the goal of ensuring compliance and optimizing business efficiency.
- Provide business leadership direction and coordination of resources to ensure our supply chain is both compliant and inspection ready.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including Design Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Product Development, to ensure seamless transfer of our designs into production.
- The individual in this role directs a high performing team that provides Quality Assurance oversight for a global supply chain consisting of contract manufacturers located primarily in North America and Asia.
- Develop key policies and procedures pertaining to manufacturing, the supply chain, and related procedures in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Guide and counsel on technology available that drives delivery of compliance solutions consistent with business direction.
- Manage and drive process improvement across quality functional areas and act as an executive change agent for quality process improvements.
- Continue to foster and improve the culture of Quality within the business.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 13+ years of Quality Systems experience working in an FDA regulated industry: medical device, pharmaceutical, or combination products.
- Strong knowledge of global Health Authority regulations, current industry practices, and experience with application of guidelines and regulations related to the control of product in a global supply chain.
- Proven experience directing and leading a high performing team of skilled leaders and individual contributors.
- Knowledge of, and previous implementation and maintenance experience with, electronic Quality Management Systems software.
- Detail oriented, ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, flexibility to reorganize and reschedule work on short notice to meet tight deadlines, have a strong quality mindset, and enjoy working in a team environment.
- Critical thinking and analysis skills to conceive and design solutions to a wide variety of business problems, where the solutions could involve technology, process improvement or harmonization, documentation and/or training.
- Excellent verbal and written communicator; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions, both internally and with external consultants/vendors.
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills; Works with JUUL Management, Consultants, and Staff to develop practical solutions to achieve compliance and support quality process improvements.
- The ability to collaborate both across functions and cultures.
