VP, Marketing Operations and Strategy

The Barstool Sports Ad Sales team is looking for a VP, Marketing and Operations Strategy to help lead our Marketing teams and Ad Sales strategy and operational support. Reporting directly to our Chief Revenue Officer, the ideal individual has a wealth of experience in the digital media industry and has led go-to-market strategies for a variety of digital media products in the audio and video space. The ability to determine ad product strategies will be key to your success. You’re a natural leader and have the ability to lead a seasoned team of marketing and partnership professionals as well as expand our reach to new audiences and new markets.

What You'll Do

  • Facilitate C-level discussions to establish short and long-term marketing roadmap as well as build strategic plans and translate those concepts into actionable, measurable targets
  • Develop critical metrics and marketing reports for the executive team that demonstrate the contribution to new customer growth and customer expansion revenue goals
  • Define standard operating procedures, with clearly articulated and cross-functional approaches and workflows
  • Maintain internal 12-month calendars to align goals with initiatives (events, awards, speaking engagements, campaigns, press, social media, etc.)
  • Develop initiatives to expand market share, collaborate cross-functionally to transform ideas into compelling experiences
  • Define go-to-market strategies across Barstool brands and categories
  • Own and update collateral on regular cycles
  • Research and provide guidance on ad products, leveraging prior experience and expertise in digital media / publishing to make sound recommendations
  • Lead a team of seasoned Marketing professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and oversight; retain, develop, and grow the careers of team members
  • Assess the current team structure and make recommendations for additional headcount / lead recruitment efforts in conjunction with HR and Marketing teams
  • Building dashboards to track KPIs, assisting with ongoing analysis for executive reporting
  • Assisting with internal and all-staff company presentations to track and advance progress towards strategic goals
  • Own messaging in partnership with Ad Sales to stay ahead of market trends, create a constant feedback loop, and establish differentiated market positioning.

What You Have

  • 8+ years of direct hands-on marketing experience leading strategic initiatives and defining process at scale; at least 5 years managing an experienced marketing and partnerships team.
  • Deep experience within the digital media / publishing industry
  • Proven track record of developing, executing and managing multi-channel marketing strategies
  • Have managed a multi functional marketing organization with a record of developing fully operational marketing teams
  • Experience with developing / determining ad product
  • Strong performance marketing and analytic experience; inherent analytical curiously beyond KPIs to understand key drivers of success
  • Effective communication skills; ability to work closely with leadership team and across functional areas; proactively shares information across teams
  • Passionate about Barstool’s content and upward trajectory of growth; knowledge of internal brands
  • Direct experience with growing revenue in a medium to high growth company
  • Collaborative working style, detail- and goal- oriented, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage tight deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking aptitude, constant learning, self-motivation and discipline
  • Strong relationship building and people management skills
