VP of Product Design

About the Job

We are looking for a design leader who’s excited to take ownership of product design for one of the world’s fastest growing developer tools companies. The VP of Design will be a key member of the product leadership team, reporting directly to the CTO, and charged with leading Product Design. The VP of Design will play a vital role in shaping and overseeing how our consumers interact with the product. They’ll be responsible for structuring and mentoring the team, and elevating the standard of quality for design within the organization. 

Responsibilities:

• Translate business priorities into a design vision, strategy, roadmap and OKRs; while contributing your own ideas and solutions

• Partner with leadership to create and drive strategic initiatives and long-term investments that impacting the future direction of the product and organization.

• Hire, mentor, and lead a team of highly skilled designers and leaders while building a strong team culture with a focus on the ability to scale and deliver excellent designs

• Streamline the design process and set the standard to maximize speed of design iterations. Frame problems, define insights, create compelling visions, and get your hands dirty making UX solutions, UI designs, graphic design while supporting creative direction overall

• Engage with customers directly, and iterate quickly with testing & prototyping

• Foster a design culture that encourages rapid design experimentation and strong collaboration across product, engineering, and the business.

Qualifications:

• Significant experiences leading scaled Product Design organizations for products focused on the developer persona.

• 7+ years of relevant experience in design, including user experience, product or interaction design (preferably with 5+ years of management experience ). Experience in a leading design role at a high-growth SaaS business:

• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate and maintain high levels of credibility with other executives and team members.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be authorized to work in US / Canada (no visa sponsorship / relocation) and able to work in the Bay Area as needed.
