The Role
The Vice President, Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the bank’s network, ensuring high availability, and performance of network services. They will work with and mentor a team of professionals to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize the bank’s network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and associated technologies. This role requires a combination of office work and field supervision; the Vice President, Senior Systems Administrator may need to respond to network emergencies outside of standard working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement network strategies to support the bank’s objectives and growth.
- Provide guidance, and mentorship to the IT team.
- Work directly with the CTO to oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of network systems across the organization.
- Ensure network security protocols are in place and adhered to, preventing unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to forecast future network needs, including hardware, software, and personnel.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal network uptime and reliability.
- Coordinate with IT vendors for projects, troubleshooting, and general network maintenance.
- Explore strategies to enhance the efficiency of IT operations, aiming to reduce costs effectively.
- Engage with the Information Security Officer to ensure robust security protocols and accurate documentation.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation within the network operations team.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience in network administration and operations, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
- Mentorship and guidance capabilities, with a focus on fostering professional development.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and security practices.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to network management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, management, and external vendors.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Education Required:
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, IT Management, or relevant field
- Relevant certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, CCNA, CCDP, or similar will be an advantage.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience in managing network operations
- 5+ years of experience working with Windows-based server environments
- 5+ years of experience working with on-premises network infrastructure
- 2+ years of experience working with virtualized or cloud-based network infrastructure
- Ability to be on-call
