Wholesale Manager

TLDR

Own the full B2B sales lifecycle for a new cannabis wholesale operation, building CRM, LeafLink, and pricing systems that scale distribution.

Position Overview

The Wholesale Manager is responsible for building and executing Great Ascent Botanicals' wholesale sales strategy as the company launches its Marijuana-Infused Products (MIP) operation. This is a foundational role that sits at the intersection of sales, operations, and account management — the person who takes a best-in-class product line and gets it into the hands of the right dispensary partners across Colorado.

Reporting directly to the COO, the Wholesale Manager will own the full B2B sales lifecycle: prospecting and onboarding new retail accounts, managing ongoing relationships, structuring service offerings, and building the systems (CRM, LeafLink, website) that support a scalable wholesale operation. This role is critical to revenue generation as we move from production buildout to active market presence.

Key ResponsibilitiesWholesale Sales & Account Management

  • Build and manage a portfolio of licensed Colorado dispensary accounts.
  • Develop and execute an outbound sales strategy to open new wholesale accounts across key markets.
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing.
  • Maintain consistent communication with existing accounts to drive reorder volume and deepen relationships.
  • Represent Great Ascent Botanicals at trade events, industry meetings, and account visits as needed.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly wholesale revenue targets established by the COO.

Market Strategy & Pricing

  • Develop tiered pricing structures and volume-based incentive programs in partnership with the COO.
  • Monitor competitive pricing and market trends across the Colorado MIP landscape.
  • Recommend product mix and packaging strategies to optimize wholesale appeal.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to the production team to inform future product development.

Systems, CRM & Operations

  • Build and maintain the wholesale CRM — tracking accounts, pipeline, order history, and follow-up cadence.
  • Manage and optimize the company's LeafLink presence including catalog listings, pricing, and order management.
  • Partner with the COO on website and digital infrastructure to support B2B visibility and ordering.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order communication between accounts and the operations team.
  • Maintain organized documentation of all account agreements, pricing terms, and order records.

Compliance & Logistics

  • Ensure all wholesale activity complies with Colorado MED regulations, including transfer manifests and METRC requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Ops & Compliance to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all transfers and ensure accounts are licensed and in good standing.
  • Stay current on MED licensing requirements for wholesale distribution and ensure all activity falls within scope.

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Provide weekly sales activity and pipeline reports to the COO.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts to support production planning and inventory management.
  • Track account performance metrics including reorder frequency, average order size, and sell-through rates.
  • Flag at-risk accounts or fulfillment issues proactively to avoid disruption.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of B2B sales or account management experience; cannabis wholesale experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and managing a sales pipeline from prospecting to close.
  • Familiarity with LeafLink or similar cannabis B2B ordering platforms.
  • Strong CRM proficiency and comfort building sales systems from scratch.
  • Knowledge of Colorado MED regulations as they apply to wholesale distribution preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, relationship-driven approach.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Must be 21 or older and able to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado MED occupational license.

Working Conditions

  • This is a primarily remote-eligible role with regular on-site presence at the 8401 Baseline facility and travel to dispensary accounts as needed.
  • Some evenings or weekend availability may be required for trade events or account visits.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for in-market account visits.

Performance Metrics & KPIs

  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly wholesale revenue targets.
  • Grow active account base by a minimum of 5 new accounts per quarter post-launch.
  • Maintain LeafLink catalog accuracy and order fulfillment coordination with zero compliance violations.
  • Provide weekly pipeline and sales reports to COO on schedule.
  • Achieve account retention rate of 85% or higher on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure all wholesale activity remains MED-compliant with zero regulatory violations.
