Workers Compensation Claims Manager

The Workers Compensation Claims Manager will support management of Workers Compensation claims to resolution of each claim that is compatible with the goals of Wayfair and that returns the injured team member to work at the earliest possible time. Provide technical support and monitor activity of the Third Party Administrators (TPA). Responsible for day-to-day activities of claims and communication to all business units. Support a team of site level Safety Supervisors to help create and sustain the safety culture at Wayfair. This leader will assure successful delivery of the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and support the overall safety strategies. This leader must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the management and associate teams.
What You’ll Do
- Work Comp claims resources to Corporate and business unit management and supervisory personnel.
- Monitor workers Compensation claims, including close supervision of large and/or severe cases.
- Consult with attorneys, adjusters and carriers regarding claims or claims services.
- Support company-wide Return to Work/Transitional duty program.
- Attend claims reviews.
- Assist in the review of outside claims administrators (TPA) for effectiveness and cost containment.
- Assist claims Manager in projects, other efforts
- Manage worker’s compensation program, claims management, and injury management. Prepare materials and evidence for use in hearings, litigations, and communication to insurance claim carriers. Work closely with industrial clinics and specialists.
- Open, review and process claims, ensure program conformance to applicable laws and regulations, prepare required reports, and monitor and evaluate the program activities to ensure the delivery of quality services.
- Create and provide reports to management on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, i.e. injury trends by location, Worker Compensation overview, etc.
- Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints; evaluate problems and take appropriate action to resolve issues/concerns; advise injured employees of their benefits.
- Interface with physicians, attorneys, employees and management; coordinate return-to-work plans; coordinate and monitor rehabilitation plans for injured employees.
- Develop, strengthen and sustain productive and collaborative working relationships with all levels of the organization
What You’ll Need
- 2+ years of experience in handling workers compensation claims.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements that govern worker health and safety; physical assessment and ergonomic skills; case management skills.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal workers compensation and safety regulations.
- Ability to handle high case load, set priorities, strong organizational and time management skills.
The salary range for this position is $94,050- 108,900 however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.”
