Accounting Manager
Zoox is looking to add its first Accounting Manager as we scale our finance function and improve our key processes. You will wear several hats as you report to the Corporate Controller. You will have day-to-day responsibilities for the monthly close, AP, payroll, and administering our banking relationship. You will also drive the implementation of several new processes and tools while supporting the organization in their finance requirements. You will need solid quantitative skills, experience in setting up new processes, an eye for discrepancies, and a willingness to work collaboratively in a fast paced and exciting environment. You will have the opportunity to build the finance team as the business scales.
What You’ll Do

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department

Process month and end year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, fixed asset activity etc.

Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles

Drive the implementation of the AP process and controls

Process daily AP invoices and weekly check runs (checks, ACH, wires).

Maintain day-to-day responsibility for our banking relationship (e.g., order new credit cards, approve certain payments, resolve queries).

Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements

Work closely with other functions (e.g., accounting, finance, procurement, vehicle engineering) to resolve business and operational issues in a professional and efficient manner.
What You’ll Need

3+ years in an accounting role – prior Accounting Manager experience required

Proven track-record of delivering results across broad range of finance activities

Proficiency with Excel and data analysis skills

Hustle and drive to do what is needed

Ability to work collaboratively and drive change in an engineering-led organization

Strong grasp of GAAP accounting principles and best-practices
