Ad Operations Manager, Podcasts

We’re a relatively new, small team that collaborates closely with our brands, core services, and business teams to build the future of audio journalism and entertainment.
As we expand our network, Vox Media is looking for an Ad Operations Manager for Podcasts. This role will be responsible for executing audio campaigns on behalf of our advertising partners and editorial networks, and will report to the VP of Revenue and Partnerships for Audio based in NYC with a dotted line to the Director of Ad Operations.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with Account Manager on booking sold advertising inventory across 20+ podcasts for client and house campaigns
- Book advertising orders in our system, traffic ad copy/creative and QA ads to ensure quality campaign launches and creative rotation/refreshes
- Work with the Account Manager to manage the inventory pipeline, reserving and releasing inventory for client proposals in pre-sale as needed
- Work with Account Manager on inventory projections for dynamically inserted ad campaigns when necessary
- Book and categorize inventory for client campaigns in post-sale
- Compile weekly and wrap reporting for campaigns, and coordinate with Account Manager on delivery to clients alongside on-boarding kites, ad specs for various audio products, brand study timelines and information as needed, etc.
- Quality check client’s creative adheres to technical specifications and best practices
- Monitor campaign delivery and performance
- Provide timely reporting on campaign performance to sales, client success, and marketing
- Collaborate with sales, client success, yield, and editorial to optimize campaigns as-needed
- Work with the Account Director and Account Manager for Audio to provide ongoing client service such as sending links to listen to shows, providing audio files/air checks for their records, etc.
- Work with Audio Leadership to expand revenue strategy for back-catalogue monetization by leveraging all platform capabilities (Art19 or Megaphone)
- Coordinate house advertising campaigns with the Senior Manager of Podcast Marketing
- Create detailed, informative wrap reports and case studies for clients
- Manage brand study implementation in partnership with Audio Leadership and Account Director
- Suggest process improvements based on previous campaign executions and performance
- Ensure revenue recognition across billing systems and teams is completed on time
- Bandwidth allowing, work broadly across the AdOps org at the behest of the Director of Advertising Operations to support various team needs and provide backup coverage for other Campaign Managers as necessary
What you’ll bring:
- 2-4 years work experience in AdOps or an equivalent discipline
- BA/BS in related field is preferred
- Experience with traffic management tools like DFP and Operative
- Experience with audio publishing platforms like ART19
- An understanding of podcast measurement and a perspective on reporting
- An inherent curiosity and eagerness to learn
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent administrative skills with an acute attention to detail
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- A love for our brands and the content they produce
- An ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- An understanding of the sales process
- An appetite to rethink podcast storytelling and advertising
