AML Transaction Monitoring Rules Officer
About the role
We are looking for a leader with strategic and operational excellence to enhance Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crime rules within the Compliance Operations team and enhance our Transaction Monitoring Red Flags including related projects for automation and machine learning. With high growth in the team’s people and processes, we need a strategic partner to deliver in assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of our AML rules. As the AML Rules Officer at Chime, you will work with Subject Matter Experts, Risk Insights, Engineering, and Fraud Operations to achieve results.
In this role, you can expect to
- Conduct effective, thorough evaluation, improvement, and monitoring, including the development, implementation and execution of Transaction Monitoring Rules.
- Create tailored business rules to reduce hit rate, prepare tuning data, reviewing hit reduction strategies.
- Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods in order to monitor new typologies and emerging risks. Work with product owners and tech stakeholders to create and groom user stories.
- Provide in-depth and sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions.
- Ensures AML risks associated with transaction activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and mitigated.
- Assume responsibility for special projects; gather data and prepare reports for meetings, Senior Management, audits, and exams.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 3 or more years of experience designing, analyzing, testing and/or validating BSA/AML models
- Strong writing, analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- The ability to work in a fast paced, highly structured, deadline driven culture.
- An aptitude for continuously learning and understanding BSA risks and concerns.
- A team player mentality with strong collaborative qualities and a positive demeanor.
- The ability to review, analyze, summarize, and present large data sets. Experience with Python, SQL, VBA, Alteryx etc, is preferred.
- The ability to guide the development and testing team during execution.
