We currently have a vacancy for an Apprentice Fitter to join our team.

Apprenticeship: 

Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter M.A.M.F. (4-year apprenticeship)

The company operates the 4 year SOLAS approved training programme comprising of on-the-job training with courses designed to lead to a National Craft Certificate in the above trade.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity of achieving a qualification for a rewarding and interesting career while working in a modern manufacturing environment.

On completion of this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified mechanical automation and maintenance fitter, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft - Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting. 

What you will learn:

  • The importance of adherence to safety procedures.
  • The importance of good housekeeping standards.
  • Day to day installation, maintenance and repairs in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • How to work with a variety of specialised tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders.
  • How to dismantle, repair or make and fit new parts when performing plant maintenance.
  • Interpretation of technical drawings and diagrams.

  • Must demonstrate a keen ambition for a career in this area.
  • Have a genuine interest in engineering and how things work.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving/trouble shooting.

  • Organised and structured approach to work
  • Self-motivated, high energy, positive attitude with initiative for timely completion of goals

Closing date for receipt of applications is 7th August 2026

A shortlist of candidates may be required to complete aptitude tests with an external provider.  Following completion of tests those successful will then be interviewed
