Assembly Technician (1099 project-based role)

Dreamscape Learn is looking for a hands-on, dependable Assembly Technician to help build and prepare equipment used in our immersive learning installations. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with tools, electronics, and mechanical assemblies.
What You’ll Do
- Assemble steel frames, hardware, acrylic panels, and electronic components
- Use hand tools and power tools for basic assembly and fabrication
- Perform basic electrical and low-voltage/data wiring
- Route, secure, and organize wiring and cables
- Follow drawings, instructions, and assembly procedures
- Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
- Assist with packing, inventory, and general production tasks as needed
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools
- Basic experience with electronics, wiring, assembly, or fabrication preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, kneel, squat, and work on hands and knees
Experience with cable management, Cat6/data cabling, low-voltage wiring, electronics, manufacturing, or shop assembly is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
NOTE: This is a 1099 project-based role, up to 40 hrs per week for the duration of the project.
Benefits
Compensation: $27.50 - $40 / hr (up to 40 hrs per week)
