Overview of role:

The EHS Associate Specialist supports the implementation and maintenance of environment, health and safety (EHS) programs. This role involves executing routine tasks within established procedures. The position works closely with the Head of EHS and provides support to the organization on safety standards and practices.

Key responsibilities and minimum requirements according to job level:

• Improvement to EHS management system, maintaining Alvotech EHS standards.
• Focus on support for manufacturing teams, work within cleanroom environment.
• Accountable for completing own tasks or assignments.
• Addressing challenges and making decisions in cooperation with manufacturing teams.
• Making adjustments or changes to procedures and processes.

Competencies required to fulfill the employee responsibilities and work assignments:

• An employee shall follow the job description that pertains to his/her position. In addition an employee shall follow the SOPs that pertains to his/her position.
• An employee shall adhere to the company policies and procedures that are available on the Alvotech intranet – Alvocado.  

Specifics of the role:

• Supporting EHS programs, training, support and facilitation of EHS risk assessments.
• Support EHS team in advising employees, contractors, vendors and visitors within Alvotech facilities on EHS standards & guidelines.
• Follow up on EHS expectations for operational teams.
• Participation in internal audits / inspections.
• Participation in implementation best practices.

Minimum education and experience required for the role

• University degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related industry
• 1-2 years of experience in a regulated industry or laboratory experience.
• Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly proactive, mature judgment and decision-making ability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Self-directed and demonstrated efficient work methods, problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• We encourage candidates to apply even if they do not have direct EHS experience, as long as they have relevant educational background or laboratory safety experience and a strong interest in developing within EHS.
