Backend Engineer (f/m/d)

The role: 
As our Backend Engineer, you'll be the wizard behind the curtain, making our marketplaces smooth, intuitive, and downright delightful. You'll be a key member of our talented Marketplace Team— a team of 6-8 software engineers both frontend and backend—dedicated to creating seamless, impactful experiences on the xChange platform.

Reporting to Sasha, our Engineering Manager, and working closely with the Product and Design Teams, you'll focus on improving our Trading and Leasing platforms to increase transactions from our existing customers. Together, you'll refine and develop features that ensure our customers succeed and find value on our platform. You’ll also support our operational team by streamlining processes and automating complex workflows to reduce manual work.

The Location:

Ideally, we are looking for a team member to join us in our Hamburg office in a hybrid setup. However, this role is also open to remote candidates located in Germany or the EU, as long as you already hold a valid work permit for your location.

Your responsibilities in a nutshell:

• You build it, you run it: Design and build new features as part of your engineering team, owning the process from start to finish
• Collaborate closely with Product, Business, and Design teams to challenge, maintain, and enhance existing features.
• Work on cutting-edge modern technologies while contributing to a dynamic, forward-thinking organization, identify technical debts and seek sustainable solutions.
• Support in optimizing our coding processes and push the boundaries of our toolset and architecture.
• Actively help drive the team towards our technical vision and share valuable insights and learnings.
