As part of its ongoing growth plans, the Irish operation is applying for a licence from the Central Bank of Ireland to conduct business in Europe as a Payment Institution, working closely with its UK and US operations
Reporting to the CEO of Owl Payments Europe Ltd. (and ultimately the board of OPEL), we are looking for a CFO to manage the finance functions of a new regulated entity - OPEL.
This role encompasses the Head of Finance pre-approved control function (PCF) 11 & 1 in line with the Central Bank of Irelands ‘fitness and probity’ regime.
Operating within a regulated and matrixed environment, the role will ensure full adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and the good conduct of the business, maintaining compliance and ensuring the regulated entity is sufficiently resourced, capitalised, ensuring compliance with all capital adequacy and liquidity requirements, underpinned with robust processes.
Furthermore, you’ll take ownership of wider commercial activities including:
- Overseeing the company's financial performance across the European operation to include monthly reconciliation of management and statutory reporting packs.
- Ensure appropriate personnel in place to facilitate the efficient running of the finance function for Tripadvisor’s payments entity based in Ireland.
- Submission of timely regulatory returns to the CBI
- Ensuring full compliance with CBI regulatory capital and safeguarding obligations.
- Maintain oversight and perform a detailed review of safeguarding processes with final responsibility for daily reconciliation sign-off.
- Reporting of accurate financial ledgers in accordance with both local and US GAAP principles.
- Creation of a strong working relationship with Tripadvisor’s corporate finance and accounting teams in the production of regular forecasts and variance analysis to actuals.
- Timely preparation of statutory returns to include annual accounts, indirect and corporate tax reporting and any other ad hoc internal/external reporting requirements.
- Developing and documenting all local accounting procedures and financial controls.
- Supporting and implementing Group finance policies and resolving any local finance issues.
- Implementing and monitoring cost management and expense controls for the business.
As Head of Finance, you will build effective working relationships across the commercial and finance teams and act as a true finance business partner. Your sense of urgency and ability to proactively support Executives in decision making through the analysis and interpretation of the business strategy will be key.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional with international experience to help to continue to shape the long-term success of a newly established business, as such you’ll be;
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- A technically strong qualified accountant ACA, CPA, ACCA (or equivalent). You are confident and skilled to make an impact in a visible role for a fast-growing business
- Previously approved by the Central Bank of Ireland as Head of Finance PCF-11/PCF-1
- Excellent communicator at all levels of the organisation
- Previous payments or Fintech experience a plus
- Well developed analytical and decision making skills with a keen sense of how to develop and articulate clear logic for decisions and policies
- Experience working in complex listed international groups – multi-entity, multi-country, multi-currency highly regarded.
