Clinical Application Specialist

Deep 6 AI is a fast-growing tech startup headquartered in Los Angeles, California looking for talented, dynamic team members who want to help shape our groundbreaking artificial intelligence platform.  This is a remote opportunity, and we have a significant number of team members in Chicago, Seattle, SF Bay Area, NYC and Nashville. 

We are transforming and accelerating clinical trials, to help get life-saving treatments to patients faster and accelerate innovation in healthcare. To that end, we build a cutting-edge software suite that connects all clinical research stakeholders, from research teams to treating physicians, patients, and study sponsors on a real-time, real-world data SaaS platform, powered by AI. 

We are currently looking for a part-time Clinical Application Specialist to join our team.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Customer Success, the Clinical Application Specialist (CAS) is an essential part of the Customer Success Team. The CAS will act as the clinical expert to help users match patients with trials based on their medical histories within Deep 6. The CAS is responsible for building clinical research studies, training end users, and providing customer support to the client. It is expected that the CAS, in collaboration with the Customer Success Manager, will drive adoption of the product and ensure that our customers both at the end user level and the enterprise level are seeing value. The CAS may also help define and pilot new technology-enabled services for our customers as the Deep 6 business model matures over time. 

What You'll Do

Client Implementation & Training

·         Build Studies in Deep 6: In collaboration with the client, build priority clinical research studies for the client to be used for training/education.   

o    Act as the Clinical Research Subject Matter Expert on client implementation/deployment projects. 

·         Train End Users: Train end users on all Deep 6 applications, including Cohort Builder, Trial Recommender, and Patient Recruiter. Ensure understanding of Deep 6 features and functionality.  

o    Work with organization stakeholders to define strategic plan to incorporate D6 into overall clinical trials workflow (site recruitment planning and implementation, department rollout planning, multi-site rollout planning). 

o    Provide workflow design, clinical training, education, and ongoing support to end-users on the use of the software. 

o    Follow up with users after the completion of training, and provide periodic in-person or online follow-up training to end-users. 

Client Support & Consulting

·         Customer Support: Ensure all customer support inquiries are completed by working with various internal teams to troubleshoot customer issues and provide info/data requested by customers. 

o    Provide consultative support to customers in driving customer productivity through the implementation of customer consultative projects and query building services. 

o    Become a recognized expert in product/clinical technical competencies, and the go to resource to answer a wide range of questions concerning the software and clinical workflows. 

·         User Adoption: Drive additional value by encouraging deeper feature adoption.   

o    Collaborate with Customer Success Managers (CSM) regarding customer concerns and/or product performance issues.  

o    Analyze problems or issues, research solutions, and communicate the best options to end-users. 

·         Tech Enabled Services 

o    The CAS may be involved in new service definitions and pilot programs to bring more clinical support to Deep 6 customers 

Product Development

·         Product Support: Assist Product with defining product enhancements based on user feedback. 

o    Partner with Product and Engineering teams on functional requirements and validation of clinical content and product features/functionality. 

o    Provide subject matter expertise to management, marketing, engineering, and sales colleagues; train internal colleagues (new hires) on cohort builder.   

o    Actively participate in the development of training tools and provide input regarding relevant clinical tools needed for future products and services. 

o    Draft internal and external education, tools, and training materials. 

Sales & Marketing

·         Assist with product demonstrations at client sites, conferences, and trade shows. 

·         Prepare sales collateral and presentations for customer opportunities. 

·         Collect valuable references across each department. 

·         Collect case studies across each department. 

About You

  • 5+ years of clinical research (CRC, CRN) or medical informatics experience in a healthcare, life sciences or clinical software vendor organization (hospital, academic medical center, CRO, Pharma/Biotech). 
  • Experience in delivering training to medical and research support staff. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with end users, including all roles within a research department. 
  • Adaptable with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean, startup environment. 
  • Results and detail-oriented, with strong critical thinking skills. 
  • Self-motivated and autonomous with ability to prioritize. 
  • Clinical B2B SaaS product experience preferred. 
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a medical or scientific area required. RN/BSN or equivalent or greater preferred.
