TLDR

Deploy real-time computer vision pipelines on production lines, integrating edge devices, IoT systems, PLCs, and cloud services.

Thingtrax is building an Agentic Manufacturing Operations platform to fundamentally change how factories run. By deploying AI-powered agents including computer vision systems directly on production lines, we enable manufacturing operations that can observe, reason, and act in real time. Partnering closely with manufacturers, especially in food and beverage, we’re helping teams reduce waste, improve quality, and move from manual intervention to autonomous, continuously optimised operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end computer vision systems, including detection, segmentation, tracking, and OCR.
  • Lead model selection, training, fine-tuning, and optimization initiatives.
  • Architect and deploy real-time inference pipelines on edge devices.
  • Optimize models using TensorRT, ONNX, OpenVINO, and quantization techniques.
  • Design and maintain cloud-based inference services and monitoring pipelines.
  • Integrate vision systems with IoT devices, PLCs, and enterprise platforms.
  • Conduct applied research, prototype new approaches, and evaluate emerging models.
  • Mentor junior engineers and perform technical reviews.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of production systems.
  • Lead installation, configuration, and support of AI and IoT solutions for multiple clients.
  • Oversee trials, site surveys, and collaborate with sales and product teams to align technical solutions with customer environments.
  • Manage hardware and software deployment, validation, and postinstallation support.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, including on-site client visits and coordination with R&D teams.
  • Drive development, debugging, and optimization of AI models and embedded systems software.
  • Participate actively in Agile teams following Scrum methodologies.
  • Identify and prototype new AI technologies to enhance product offerings

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience designing, deploying, and optimizing production-grade computer vision and AI systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in AI/CS/SE (mandatory).
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python, with strong system design and architecture skills.
  • Deep experience with advanced object detection, segmentation, multi-object tracking, and OCR frameworks such as YOLO, Detectron2, MMDetection, and custom pipelines.
  • Proven experience deploying real-time inference pipelines on edge devices and cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of model optimization techniques including TensorRT, ONNX, OpenVINO, and quantization.
  • Solid background in Linux, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Strong programming skills in C#, C, or C++ are a plus.
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience managing client interactions and troubleshooting on-site issues.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and embedded systems security is advantageous.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum methodology.
