Corporate Controller

 Zoox is looking to make its first senior finance hire in the role of Corporate Controller. Your role will be to define and implement the finance organization at Zoox and bring all finance activities in-house (currently we rely on external contractors). You will implement finance systems and processes that will allow Zoox to scale rapidly while maintaining adequate controls. You will have the opportunity to hire a lean team of finance professionals that you will guide on a day-to-day basis to introduce best-practices at Zoox.

 What You’ll Do

• Oversee all financial operations.
• Manage all accounting - Payroll, AP, Month-end reporting, Tax, Audit, and Compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of accounting policies and procedures
• Own Banking relationships (incl. relationship management, lines of credit, payment methods, day-to-day cash management) and Investment policies for excess cash
• Prepare the budget and forecast planning, including monthly variance analysis
• Responsible for FP&A activities such as cash burn estimation, make vs. buy, business cases etc.
• Assess the needs of the business and drive the implementation of new systems as needed. (e.g., Migration from QuickBooks to ERP/Accounting system)
• Analyze and report the financial performance to Management, Board of Directors and Investors (financial performance, projections, and other special projects as required).
• Build the framework to track development and manufacturing spend, select tools, processes and define ongoing business reporting.

What You'll Need

• 10+ years of finance/accounting experience with several years in a leadership capacity
• Experience at large, well-regarded company as well as in a startup environment
• Experience with all the above listed functions (i.e. GL, Month-end, Accounting Principles, Financial Statements)
• Implementation of an ERP system and other related finance tools (i.e Concur)
• BS and MBA in Finance / Accounting from top-tier accounting/finance school
• CPA or CMA
• Prior background in Hardware Manufacturing
• Big4 experience is a plus
