About the team

The Design Technology XD team’s purpose is to deepen the technical proficiencies of the Product Design organization. We do this by working on design projects where writing coded prototypes will unblock, up-level, or expedite product innovation ideas. The Tools & Infrastructure branch of our team builds solutions that make the process of building products at Netflix more efficient.

About the role

This role is in support of our Design Tools & Infrastructure team. You will help build, maintain, support, and document software critical to our Product Design partners working to create the best-in-class streaming entertainment platform.

Responsibilities include:

-Contributing to the evolution of our product design workflow by building tools, foundational infrastructure, and Figma plugins

-Responsible for the release of our products and patches on time to internal customers

-Streamline deployments for multiple projects across different software environments

-Managing relationships with our cross-functional partners to address feedback

-Developing and maintaining documentation and training materials to help the team use these tools effectively

About you

You have a creative mind and a deep understanding of interaction design as well as the product development lifecycle. You are passionate about building tools that help to make your colleagues’ efforts more efficient and impactful.

Your engineering skills are rock-solid, but you’re never done learning. You have an intense curiosity that compels you to try new technologies, build new platforms, and solve new technical problems. You don’t suffer from ‘analysis paralysis’ and you have the ability to simplify the complex while prioritizing what is most important over the nice-to-haves.

You thrive on collaboration. You’re inclusive in your engagement with your team and cross-functional partners. You’re mature enough to not have an ego, and you welcome honest, open feedback as easily as you give it. You demonstrate selflessness by prioritizing making the right call for the business, team, or project over your own personal opinion.

What we’re looking for

-Proficiency with Javascript, Typescript, Node, Git and the full software development life cycle including: auth, CORS, DNS, and general DevOps

-Experience working with modern JavaScript Frameworks (preferably React)

-Experience working collaboratively and inclusively with people of different backgrounds, experience levels, and job functions

-Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate strategy and prioritization rationale and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

-Interest or experience working with Design Systems

-Nice to have experience with release automation (preferably Github Actions and/or Jenkins)

-Nice to have experience writing Figma Plugins

-A love of movies, TV shows and interactive media
