About the Position:
The Director of Business Development is responsible for sales of Single Digits software and services to communications service providers, consumer brands, and large enterprises in the U.S. He/she works as part of a team to drive new sales using a variety of prospecting and account penetration strategies, developing trusted business relationships with target customer decision makers and key influencers, and implementing strategic sales plans to generate new sales revenue. The Director of Business Development customizes and delivers live sales presentations to prospective customers, positions Single Digits as a market leader, and closes business to meet/exceed assigned sales and billed revenue objectives.
The Director of Business Development will:
- Market existing networks to major wireless carriers and other network providers, negotiate business terms, and see projects to completion.
- Penetrate target accounts in key communications service provider, consumer brand, and large enterprise sectors.
- Develop and maintain trusted business relationships with decision makers and key influencers at wireless carriers to maintain and grow the Single Digits footprint.
- Maintain a rhythm of regular communications and in-person visits with decision makers and key influencers who determine business partner relationships and make buying decisions.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet/exceed assigned sales and billed revenue objectives.
- Generate new sales opportunities through various prospecting and account penetration strategies, including professional introductions, customer referrals, partner relationships, cold calling, etc.
- Lead qualified sales opportunities through all stages of the sales cycle and contract process for new and existing networks, and partner with cross-functional business units.
- Continuously feed and maintain a new sales pipeline with enough sales opportunities to consistently meet/exceed assigned sales and billed revenue objectives.
- Customize and deliver live sales presentations and proposals to prospects that demonstrate the long-term business value of Single Digits software and services.
- Participate and provide leadership in customer requested meetings and calls.
- Accurately document, update, and forecast new sales opportunities by customer decision month, sales revenue, sales stage, and sales forecast status in Salesforce.com.
- Act as a strong customer advocate with internal Single Digits stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and develop new product and service opportunities.
- Stay abreast of the competitive landscape and emerging technologies to help position Single Digits in the marketplace.
- Actively promote and position Single Digits for success within our targeted industry sectors.
- Attend industry events and conferences to meet with existing and prospective customers.
- Partner with Operations and Finance team members to ensure proper customer onboarding and billing.
