The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced aviation professional to lead the Netflix aviation organization.  The ideal candidate will have deep experience with managing a corporate aviation team, as well as in-depth knowledge of current aviation trends and an in-depth understanding of both domestic and international aviation regulations ( ICAO, FAA, TSA, CBP, IRS, SEC etc.).  You will be a balanced leader, mixing in industry experience with a background in leading a large and diverse team of pilots, flight attendants, maintenance staff, schedulers, and contractors.  Deep experience required in regards to fleet strategy, including, but not limited to, purchasing, leasing, and charter operations.  You will always put the safety of the crew and your passengers first. 

The Role

Our business is quickly growing and being driven by content developed in all parts of the world, supported by marketing and PR events to launch this content requiring our talent and executives to quickly get to and from these events and projects.

The Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain full responsibility for the Netflix aviation program, not limited to overall strategy and execution. 
  • Lead an experienced management team who oversee approximately 30 aviation colleagues across teams of pilots, maintenance engineers, flight attendants, and schedulers.  
  • Continuously comply and improve upon the Netflix aviation safety program, including using third party auditors to ensure we operate within complete compliance across all aviation best safety practices and policies. 
  • Ensure operational excellence and world class service to our clients across Netflix employees and our content clients. 

Education, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive background in flight operations. 
  • Experience in complying with regulations and policies of the FAA and all aviation entities globally. 
  • Previous management experience in a flight department and working with Execs.  
  • Experience acquiring/purchasing short and long haul aircraft. 
  • Excellent people and organizational skills. 
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate, Radio Operators Permit, and U.S. Passport. 
  • In-depth knowledge of CFR’s, in particular Part 91. 
  • Absence of history of violations of FAA regulations. 
  • Must be able to travel 25% of time. 
  • Computer skills that include a working knowledge of email and spreadsheets. 
  • Previous Director of Operations or equivalent aviation leadership experience preferred. 
  • Broad knowledge of aviation tax regulations.
