We are looking for fully qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapists to join us on a full or part time basis.

What will you be doing?

  • Initial assessment of client needs leading to appropriate clinical pathways.
  • Provide Single Session Solution Focused Brief Therapy; Structured telephone Counselling; CBT skills modules and eCounselling with clear objectives agreed with the client.
  • 1-2-1 SFBT Counselling sessions with clients managing a caseload between 2-18 clients depending on working hours.
  • Assist the client in decision making strategies, finding solutions and coping with life changes.
  • Work with the client on developing an understanding of their relationship with self and others.
  • Assist the client by delivery of psycho-education, where appropriate.
  • Case discussions with a Clinical Team Manager for high risk callers, as per the Risk Flag protocol, and any other challenging calls.
  • Arrange/send online material to support client work.
  • Make appropriate onward referrals to external agencies, primary/secondary care.
  • Maintain concise, factual, accurate and timely record of any interaction with the clients and/or managers by using our internal vNet database.
  • Accurate use of 8x8 telephony and communication systems to support relevant reporting for the business.
  • Be part of the shift patterns to meet the needs of the business. These will be the same each week and you will work a minimum of 3 days / shifts each week between 8am-22pm.
  • Be part of a rota that includes at least 1 weekend and 1 overnight shift per month, which are paid as overtime after completion. During the overnight shift, you are "on call" and the Clinical Coordinators will only call you if they have a distress caller on the line. An on-call manager is also available 24/7 should you need support.
  • Deliver 7+ full Clinical Assessments and/or single sessions per shift

Requirements

What you will bring to us?

  • Be an experienced practitioner with a minimum of 300+ (or close to) clinical hours.
  • Ability to commit to at least 3 shifts per week working on a weekly rota basis (Monday to Friday 8.00 am – 10.00 pm), with 1 overnight and 1 weekend shift per month (which might included a shift during BH)
  • To be fully qualified as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist (L4 and above in Counselling) with BACP (or similar) registered status and adhering to its Codes of Ethics and Standards, including ongoing supervision, personal and professional development.
  • IT literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft package as well as the use of online platforms and experience of providing Counselling remotely.
  • Knowledge of Brief Therapy (e.g. Solution Focused therapy, CBT) and a sound clinical background with excellent risk assessment skills.
  • Be a keen team-player with excellent management skills to prioritise tasks as well as supporting colleagues as needed, while always keeping in mind the needs of clients and the service without feeling overstressed or overwhelmed.

  • 4 weeks Induction training before EAP Counsellors are added to the shift pattern. During the induction, you will be working 9.00 am - 5.00 pm.
