This is kind of a funny thing to try and describe. We’re a software company. We’ve experienced growth. Marketers and designers buy our software. The cool ones. The ones who are trying to move past the status quo.
We’ve gotten to the point in our growth where we need to do something different. We want to be a brand in the minds of these forward thinkers. The best way to do this? We want to tell the stories happening in the design and marketing community that no one is telling. Why is nobody telling them? Because traditional editorial is monetized through myopic and simplistic terms.
Building a brand doesn’t require selling time to advertisers. It requires creating a meaningful long term relationship with the kinds of people who think the way we do. And for Ceros, as a tool for interactive storytelling, it means showing, rather than telling, how good storytelling is done.
Who are you?
You are a storyteller. You’ve worked in the editorial industry and are tired of pandering to the masses. You want to be an editor in chief with a clear mission - to tell great stories and build an audience of loyal readers. That’s it.
You know how to manage a team of writers. You know how this job description should’ve been written (probably not like this). You have a vision of what an amazing property would look, feel, and behave like. You have experience working with art directors, designers, and other creatives to foster the collaboration required to tell digital stories in amazing ways.

Job Responsibilities:
- Run the Ceros Editorial property
- Refine and articulate the vision for the property (we’ve started but need your help)
- Build out the new Ceros Editorial property
- Build out the team required to make this the best editorial property out there in the Marketing and Design space
- Run the day to day operations and editorial execution
- Build a loyal and engaged audience
- Love telling stories, and constantly push the envelope to tell stories in new ways (words, pictures, video, audio, and other ways we haven’t thought of)
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years in editorial
- You’ve done more than just write - you’ve managed teams, you’ve worked with art directors and video teams. You’re a 21st century storyteller
- Spent some time working for a property we all like. Have some great work to point to
- Have strong opinions about how to tell stories
- Strong leader, capable of rallying people behind a vision
- Some operational experience in addition to editorial
- Foundation in editorial design/art direction, or experience working with talented art directors.
- Very serious about your work. Not so serious about yourself
- You love taking creative risks
