Electronic Assembler/Tester

The successful applicant in the Electronic Assembler/Tester role will be responsible for delivering high-quality products in accordance with production requirements and deadlines.
Main Responsibilities:
• Following assembly instructions
• Assembling from a sample or drawing meet
• Correctly identify electrical components, component polarity and colour coding of resistors
• Populating electronic components correctly on a circuit board
• Being competent in the use of hand soldering equipment
• Be able to trim and clean boards after soldering
• Must be competent in the use of relevant hand tools and assembly jigs
• Must be competent in the use of relevant test jigs
• Performing basic fault finding and inspection of boards
• Follow SOP’s
• Should know and understand the procedure when assemblies pass and fail
• Should understand the save operating procedure and emergency procedure in case of emergency
• Performing basic mechanical assemblies associated with electrical assemblies (i.e. heat sinks, battery chargers, enclosures)
• Following standard assembly instructions (i.e. Right tool for the right job at the right workstation)
• Adhering to general health and safety and housekeeping rules
Qualifications and other Requirements:
• Matric
• Previous experience in an electronic manufacturing environment
• Understanding of OHS (5S’s) and quality concepts
• Must be able to work shifts and overtime when required
