Embedded Software Engineer

TLDR

Own embedded software for a bipedal humanoid robot across debugging, integration testing, production, and maintenance.

At Mentee Robotics, we are redefining humanoid automation with an AI-first approach - combining perception, reasoning, and dexterous manipulation into fully autonomous systems that continuously learn and improve. We offer an exceptional opportunity to participate in building next-generation commercial humanoid robots from 0 to 1, alongside competitive compensation, and an international engineering environment. We are expanding with a new robotics Engineering Center in China, working hand-in-hand with our engineering teams in headquarters. Its mission: to rapidly develop our next-generation full-size humanoid platform and bring it to production.

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to lead the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the embedded software for the full-body hardware of a bipedal humanoid robot. You will work with colleagues in other disciplines on bench debugging and full-system commissioning. The end goal is to own the embedded software of the mass-production robot and carry it through development and maintenance across the entire product lifecycle.

Who you are:

  • You have a deep understanding of embedded software and strong development experience, along with a genuine passion for humanoid robots.
  • You have a clear grasp of how the major hardware modules work, and a solid understanding of the system as a whole.
  • You have solid experience with mass production and fault handling, and you can diagnose problems hands-on and fix and optimize the embedded software.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Independently develop and test embedded software according to embedded software requirements.
  • Debug embedded system functions, perform integration testing, and write test cases.
  • Develop drivers, host-side applications, and application software to meet product requirements and internal use needs.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product and participate across the full product lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, production, and
  • maintenance.
  • Develop embedded software for hardware such as the domain controller board, power board, breakout board, and EtherCAT switch.
  • Requirements:

  • Full-time bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, electrical engineering, automation, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in RTOS and the embedded software development process.
  • Familiar with developing communication buses and interfaces, including STM32, I2C, SPI, UART, EtherCAT, CAN, CAN FD, and RS485.
  • Able to read hardware schematics and use test instruments.
  • Mobileye is a technology company at the forefront of the mobility revolution, developing advanced autonomous-driving and driver-assist systems. Our cutting-edge expertise in computer vision and machine learning not only powers self-driving vehicles but also enhances mobility infrastructure through sophisticated data analysis. With innovations like REM crowdsourced mapping and Responsibility-Sensitive Safety (RSS), we are shaping the future of intelligent transport.
