TLDR

Coordinate end-to-end logistics design and automation across the fulfillment network.

The Operations Development Team coordinates engineering and automation activities across the European fulfillment network. Our Fulfillment Centers (FCs) are operated by Logistics Service Providers (LSPs). This corporate function supports (re)engineering and quality-improvement projects for multiple FCs and LSPs. By representing zooplus in collaboration with LSPs and bringing expertise in zooplus requirements, combined with a broad engineering and lean background, we help ensure the success of key initiatives.

  • Analysing, designing, and optimising logistic solutions for existing and new fulfilment centres
  • Developing end-to-end logistics concepts, including warehouse layouts, transport flows, and automation solutions
  • Conducting data analysis to model capacities, volumes, costs, and SLAs, supporting data-driven decision making
  • Preparing business cases, cost models, and P&L analyses for logistics projects
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, operations teams, and external partners to ensure technical and operational feasibility of solutions
  • Supporting implementation and continuous improvement initiatives across the network
  • Coordinating purchasing activities and resource allocation within the department
  • Identifying and driving best-practice approaches to improve cost, service, and quality
  • Monitoring emerging technologies and market trends to contribute to strategic development
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in logistics, supply chain, engineering, or a related field, with minimum 5 years of experience in engineering consulting, intra logistics supplier, or LSP engineering departments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of e-commerce fulfillment processes, distribution, and intra logistics
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with experience in data modelling and cost analysis
  • Proven experience in project management and lean methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills with a high customer orientation
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel (minimum 30%)
