In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the local management team.

 

Working at our Romania manufacturing facility and being accountable for our Romania and GmbH legal entities whilst forming part of the EMEA Finance leadership group is what is on offer with this role.


Key Accountabilities

1. Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Manage daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Supervise financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to the executive team.
  • Ensure timely payment of the company’s obligations to the state budget and other institutions.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting preparation process and provide ongoing financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure the accurate preparation and submission of Romanian and GmbH monthly and periodical financial declarations.

2. Financial Planning & Strategy

  • Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital to support the organization’s growth.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and identify areas for improvement.

3. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislation changes, industry trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in financial management.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Romanian accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements. 

4. Stakeholder Management & Reporting

  • Work within a matrix organization with reporting lines into the EMEA Financial Director and headquarters in Toronto.
  • Manage banking and investor relations to support financial strategy.

5. Other responsibilities

·       Cost Management & Efficiency – Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to improve financial efficiency.

·       Financial Risk Management – Assess and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations and credit risks.

·       Technology & Systems Optimization – Oversee financial systems and software to improve automation and data integrity.

·       Team Leadership & Development – Mentor and develop the finance team to enhance skills and performance.

·       Tax Planning & Optimization – Work with tax advisors to optimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax regulations.


What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:


Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business/Administration, Economics;

·       CIMA or ACCA qualification is an advantage;

·       At least 5 years of experience as a Finance Manager or similar role;

·       Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial analysis techniques;

·       Preferably experience in a manufacturing environment, product costing knowledge, project accounting desirable, along with BOMs.

 

Technical Skills

·       PC literate; emphasis on Microsoft Suite products. High level of proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint including the ability to extract, analyze and interpret large amount of data from multiple systems

·       Proficiency in Global ERP systems

·       Advanced knowledge of English language

·       Previous experience strongly desired in Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
