Financial Risk Officer

TLDR

Identify, assess, and manage multi-domain financial risks; build models, reports, and governance across risk, ICFR, and crisis plans.

The Financial Risk Officer will identify, assess, and manage financial risks to ensure bank’s financial stability. This role involves developing risk management strategies, implementing controls, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You’ll collaborate with various departments to analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend effective risk management measures. This role will assist the Head of Risk in managing Credit, Liquidity, Market, Interest Rate Risk on Banking Book (IRRB), and Internal Controls for Financial Risk (ICFR) Operational Risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate financial risks, including market, credit, liquidity, and ICFR operational risks. Develop and maintain risk profiles and conduct comprehensive risk assessments.

  • Risk Management Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks. Regularly review and adjust these strategies as necessary.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities. Use financial modeling to evaluate different risk scenarios including Estimated Credit Loss (ECL) computation.

  • Reporting: Prepare detailed risk reports and presentations for senior management and the board. Clearly communicate findings and recommendations.

  • Collaboration: Partner with finance, audit, and legal teams to ensure integrated risk management practices. Provide guidance and support on risk-related issues.

  • Crisis Management: Develop and implement plans for managing financial emergencies and unforeseen risk events.

  • Others: Support the Head of Risk for any related ad hoc activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in financial risk management or a related field, preferably in banking or fintech.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards, BSP regulations, and IT infrastructure in financial settings is advantageous.

  • Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work in a hybrid work environment.
