Freelancer English Teacher (Babbel Intensive)

Changing the way language learning is done is a great challenge, so we are looking for an English teacher for 1:1 lessons.

Babbel Intensive is looking for a passionate language teacher with experience in teaching Business English. A tech-savvy teacher who can maintain a high standard of professionalism while teaching students in a dynamic and communicative virtual classroom setting.

What is Babbel Intensive? 

Babbel Intensive is a purely B2B-oriented learning platform. We offer 1:1 lessons that aim to improve individual and team language skills in a short period of time. 

You will:

• Teach B2B customers
• Test and give feedback on newly produced Babbel material

You have: 

• Fluency in your teaching language: You have an outstanding command of the language you wish to teach. If English is not your native language, an official C2 CEFR certificate is required. You can also communicate proficiently in English, which will enable you to work with our B2B Didactics team.
• Teaching certificate: you hold a TEFL (or related) teaching certificate from a recognised educational institution. A degree in a language-related field is a plus. 
• Teaching experience as a second language teacher. Online experience teaching Business English. Teaching English for different industries is a plus. 
• Technical equipment: high speed internet connection, headset with microphone, laptop/desktop with a camera.
• Technical skills: you are very familiar with Zoom and other online communication tools. You enjoy discovering new features and incorporating them in the virtual classroom. 
• Adaptability: you handle unexpected technical problems as well as challenging teaching situations confidently and professionally. 
• Communication and connectivity: you are able to bridge the virtual gap by keeping your student engaged and motivated. You are dynamic and able to combine didactical excellence with friendliness and openness. You communicate clearly and smoothly with the B2B Team when necessary.
• Energetic and passionate about teaching, eager to learn from your students as well as your peers, and to adapt to a developing field.
• You hold proof of freelancer status: you are responsible for handling your invoices and taxes.
