Reporting to the R&D Team Lead, the Front-End Software Engineer will contribute to the development and maintenance of our Cloud Viewer and Graphics Processing Services. The Cloud Viewer plays a central role across Esko's cloud applications, providing advanced capabilities for artwork visualization, printability validation, graphic information analysis, color accuracy verification, and artwork approval workflows. As part of the Cloud Graphics Team, you'll collaborate with experienced software engineers, UX Engineers, QA specialists, and product stakeholders to build intuitive, high-quality user experiences while helping evolve one of the core platforms powering Esko's cloud ecosystem. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career software engineer looking to deepen their front-end expertise while contributing to products used by customers around the globe.

This position is located in Ghent, Belgium, and follows a hybrid working model with 3 days per week onsite and the remaining days working remotely.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Design, develop and maintain front-end functionality for the Cloud Viewer platform.

  • Collaborate with UX Engineers, developers, QA engineers and product stakeholders to deliver new features and improve user experience.

  • Participate in daily Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions.

  • Write clean, maintainable and high-quality code while actively participating in peer code reviews.

  • Help investigate and resolve production issues affecting customers.

  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to design scalable cloud solutions.

  • Experiment with emerging technologies and contribute ideas that can become future product capabilities.

  • Continuously learn new technologies while growing your technical expertise within an experienced engineering team.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Mathematics or Physics (Bachelor's degree may also be considered for strong candidates).

  • General programming experience, ideally with at least one year of professional experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Fluent English.

  • Passion for software development and continuous learning.

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within Agile development teams.

It would be a plus if you have experience with:

  • JavaScript

  • TypeScript

  • HTML/CSS

  • React or another modern JavaScript framework

  • Cloud-based application development

  • AWS technologies

  • AI development tools

  • Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Dutch language skills
