Nextt is a web and mobile startup co-founded by an experienced entrepreneur with three previous start-up successes (including Jellyfish.com, sold to Microsoft in 2007). Nextt (www.GetNextt.com) is brand new and building out its founding team. In pre-launch stealth mode, Nextt is going to change the way we share and discover our future, enabling us to do more in the real world with the people that matter.

We’re now looking for an outstanding Software Engineer that knows how to build applications to scale in a smart, fast paced environment to join our founding team in Madison.

Requirements

Must Have:

Expert knowledge of Javascript and web technologies (HTML/CSS)

Strong product design and user experience skills

Aware of, but not reliant on, Object Oriented Javascript libraries (JQuery, Prototype JS, MooTools, Dojo,
etc.)

Very much aware of forward javascript frameworks like Angular, Knockoutjs & Emberjs

Knowledge of Mobile web development tools such as Jquery mobile

Experience developing rich applications with HTML/CSS (SASS,LESS)/JS

Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB as well as Relation databases such as MySql is a
plus.

Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking

Dedication to unit testing, code review and other quality-oriented practices

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

The ability to write high-performance, reusable code for the web 2.0 stack

A passion for coding and learning

Good to Have

Fluency in more than one programming language

Experience with Mobile web development

Experience with the ups and downs of large scale systems

Development experience in Unix-like systems such as GNU/Linux

Experience developing web applications using Python, .NET or Java

Enthusiasm for working with Agile processes (Scrum/Kanban/TDD/XP/...) in a team environment

A degree in computer science or similar

Startup mindset of getting things done quickly without sacrificing quality
