Full Stack Engineer - Assistant Vice President

About the Role

The Full Stack Engineer at iCapital will work end-to-end on new features, enhancements, and defect resolution on one or more of iCapital's software platforms. You will work closely with the Product Management team throughout the software development process, detailing requirements, reviewing work in progress, and addressing issues found in manual test efforts. You will build software that meets the security, privacy, and regulatory standards of the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Web application development with React on the frontend and Ruby on Rails or Python equivalent on the backend.
• Design and build features that meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including data entitlements, audit trails, and protection of client PII.
• Apply secure coding practices and remediate vulnerabilities identified through code scanning, penetration tests, and audits.
• Own production support for your services, including incident response, root-cause analysis, and follow-up actions.
• Strong grasp of system design, architecture, and trade-offs. Able to mentor junior engineers effectively.
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical design.
• Active participation in daily stand-up meetings.
• Active participation in peer code reviews as part of our standard SDLC and change management process.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated, security-conscious environments
• 5+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS cloud-based solutions
• 3+ years of backend development experience using Ruby on Rails, Python, or related frameworks, including relational database design and data modeling
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing modern web applications with JavaScript frameworks such as React
• 2+ years of experience building front-end and back-end test automation using RSpec, Cucumber, pytest, or similar tools
• Working knowledge of application security principles, including authentication and authorization, encryption in transit and at rest, and secrets management
• Familiar with cloud-native technologies and platforms, including AWS, Kubernetes (K8S), and related services
• Experience working within Agile and/or Kanban development methodologies
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000 depending on level.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
