Full Stack Tech Lead

We are looking for a leader who is hands-on enough to dive into the code, yet visionary enough to shape our architecture, drive our engineering culture, and deliver robust, cloud-native solutions. Instead of maintaining the status quo, you will drive the technical direction of cross-functional squads, mentor talented engineers, and build the scalable technology that powers Payter’s global payment platform. 

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction of cross-functional squads, owning architectural decisions (ADRs) and defining coding standards and agile best practices.

• Design and build high-performance microservices (Go, Java) and responsive, AI-driven web interfaces (Angular) using clean architecture principles.

• Architect and manage secure, cloud-native infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes) and drive Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines.

• Optimize system performance across SQL/NoSQL databases and ensure platform reliability through comprehensive testing, observability, and zero-trust security.

• Mentor and coach engineers at all levels, while partnering closely with Product Managers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements

• You have 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a tech lead or staff engineer capacity.

• You possess strong, production-grade experience with Go (Golang) and Java for building distributed systems and microservices.

• You have deep expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript, with hands-on experience in Angular.

• You have a proven track record designing and running cloud-native systems on at least one major cloud platform (GCP preferred), alongside a solid understanding of Kubernetes container orchestration.

• You are experienced in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, applying DevOps/GitOps principles, and using Infrastructure-as-Code tooling like Terraform.

• You have demonstrated the ability to lead technical projects end-to-end and possess excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

• You have familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS), GraphQL API design and security engineering best practices (OWASP, SOC 2).
