Position Overview:

We are hiring an Index Production Analyst (Fresher) to support the daily maintenance of index operations. This role is ideal for early-career professionals who are eager to build a strong foundation in index management, financial data analysis, and operational excellence, with a strong focus on data quality and process discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze asset prices, corporate actions, and other incoming financial data; investigate potential discrepancies and support coordination with data vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Support the application of corporate actions to indices in accordance with index-specific rules and methodologies.
  • Assist in managing processes for handling and validating financial data, including preventive checks, error investigations, and remediation activities to maintain high data quality.
  • Perform quality checks prior to index dissemination and support end-of-day validation processes.
  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of index management activities, including validation, launch, rebalancing, and governance processes.
  • Monitor and help maintain index accuracy across equity and multi-asset classes, ensuring alignment with defined methodologies and regulatory expectations.
  • Assist in rebalance screening, preparation of rebalancing results, participation in index committee discussions, and implementation of approved rebalances.
  • Support drafting, reviewing, and maintaining index methodologies, benchmarks, and compliance documentation under guidance from senior team members.
  • Contribute to the design, documentation, and gradual automation of workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Support index operations across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and commodities.
  • Prepare reports and basic analyses for internal stakeholders and assist in addressing client queries related to index data and calculations.
  • Collaborate with global teams to support cross-regional workflows and ensure operational continuity.

Qualifications:

  • 0–1 year of experience (including internships, academic projects, or traineeships) in finance, data analysis, index operations, or related fields, with a strong interest in index management and financial markets.
  • Foundational understanding of financial market data, corporate actions, and their impact on indices, with a strong willingness to learn and deepen expertise.
  • Exposure to financial data platforms such as FactSet, Reuters, Morningstar, Bloomberg, or similar tools through coursework, projects, or internships is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of financial benchmarks, index methodologies, and rebalancing concepts, with the ability to learn both simple and complex scenarios.
  • Interest in process improvement and automation, with the ability to document workflows and support optimization initiatives.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate data, investigate issues, and follow structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Good collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global team environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Basic knowledge or hands-on exposure to Excel, SQL, and/or Python through academic work, projects, or self-learning.
  • Awareness of regulatory standards such as Benchmark Regulations and IOSCO principles is a plus, with an eagerness to build expertise in compliance-related areas.
  • Strong analytical mindset, curiosity, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert data into meaningful insights.
