Junior System Administrator

TLDR

Provide hands-on IT support across desktops, servers, accounts, and network services to ensure reliable operations and timely project delivery in a hospitality tech environment.

·       Provide day to day support to GuestTek staff.

·       Configure and maintain desktop, laptops and server systems.

·       Set up and administer end user computing accounts.

·       Assist with network maintenance.

·       Participate in support and administration of the Avaya phone system.

·       Provide IT-related training for end-users.

·       Schedule projects to meet delivery dates and commitments.

·       Keep abreast of technology advances in computer hardware and software.

·       Other IT related duties as assigned.

·       Minimum 1-year technical diploma from recognized institution or 3 years IT support experience.

·       Experience troubleshooting a wide variety of computer software and hardware problems and implementing standard configurations.

·       Support and troubleshooting of Windows 7-10 and Office 365 applications.

·       Experience installing and troubleshooting Windows Server 2008 R2 – 2019.

·       Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory

·       Experience working with Microsoft System Center

·       Experience troubleshooting and working with Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business

·       Experience troubleshooting network issues and working with Cisco and Palo Alto hardware.

·       Management of servers using Hyper-V virtualization.

·       Linux experience is an asset but not required

·       Administration and experience supporting Avaya VOIP telephony system

·       Salesforce experience is an asset but not required

·       Flexible, pro-active approach and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, managing and resolving priorities.

·       Prepared to maintain and enhance own personal and professional development.

 

·       Excellent customer service skills and people management skills in an environment of 500+ employees.

·       Superior written and verbal communication skills English; able to discuss technical issues with both technical and non-technical people.

·       Initiative, ability to plan and schedule work, sound judgment in resolving escalated issues, and a passion for process improvement.

·       Problem solver that can work both independently and as a team member.

·       Flexible, pro-active approach and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, managing and resolving priorities.
