(Junior) Technical Project Manager – Events & Exhibits

TLDR

Develop and realize technical concepts for live events and exhibitions, ensuring seamless product presentations across international congresses.

As part of the Marketing & Communications organization, you will join our Events & Exhibits expert team. Working across departments, you will develop and realize technical concepts for live communication initiatives-from international congresses and exhibitions to customer events and internal meetings-ensuring seamless product presentations and exceptional customer experiences.

Your Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and deliver the technical execution of in-person and hybrid sales promotion events with a focus on congresses and exhibitions
  • Coordinate technical project activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and according to agreed quality standards
  • Plan and coordinate international logistics in close collaboration with the Export Department, including shipments, customs documentation and on-site deliveries
  • Manage external service providers including booth construction companies, logistics partners and audiovisual suppliers
  • Prepare cost estimates, evaluate quotations and support supplier selection and contract coordination
  • Coordinate booth and demo equipment for international congresses and exhibitions
  • Create and maintain basic 2D/3D booth layouts, technical drawings, cable plans and graphic placement concepts
  • Support the development of new exhibition concepts, demo equipment and technical solutions together with Sales, R&D and Product Marketing
  • Drive the implementation of innovative technical and audiovisual solutions for exhibitions and customer events
  • Work closely with Event Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
  • Provide technical consultation on effective product presentation and booth functionality
  • Supervise onsite booth installation and dismantling, ensuring timely execution, high quality standards and compliance with Corporate Identity and Brand Guidelines
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve technical standards, processes and supplier performance
  • Bachelor's degree or completed vocational training in Event Technology, Media Technology, Engineering, Event Management, Project Management or a related field
  • Approximately 2–3 years of professional experience in technical event management, exhibition management, trade shows or a comparable project environment
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously in an international environment

Must-Have

  • Experience in planning and executing congresses, exhibitions or technical events
  • Understanding of exhibition construction and booth infrastructure
  • Experience coordinating external suppliers and service providers
  • Ability to read and prepare technical layouts, cable plans and booth drawings
  • Good organizational and project management skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)
  • Valid Class B driver's license
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 20%)
  • Business fluency in German and English, with additional languages as an advantage

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD or comparable CAD software
  • Adobe Creative Suite knowledge
  • Experience with audiovisual technologies
  • Knowledge of logistics and customs processes
  • Experience within the medical technology, healthcare or life sciences industry
  • Understanding of product demonstrations and technical customer presentations
