Power Plant Operator – Bioenergy (m/f/d)

TLDR

Operate a 25 MW biomass CHP plant under construction with a small, highly skilled team.

HoSt Group is currently developing a modern 25 MW biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Diepholz, fueled by waste wood. The facility will generate electricity and steam for an animal by-product processing company, contributing to a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions.

The plant is scheduled to become operational in March 2027 and will be run by a small, highly skilled team.

About the role as a Power Plant Operator Bioenergy (m/f/d)

You will play a key role in operating and monitoring the biomass installation, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.

After joining the company, you will complete a structured onboarding and training program focused on operating and maintaining the plant. This process will take several months and will be completed prior to the plant becoming operational.

Your responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the biomass plant and related systems;

  • Ensure safe, stable, and efficient process performance;

  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks;

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report technical issues;

  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams;

  • Follow safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

Requirements

Our requirements

  • Several years of experience as an operator in an industrial or energy-related environment;

  • Experience with steam systems (e.g. steam boilers) is strongly preferred;

  • Technical understanding of process installations;

  • Good command of English and German (B1/B2 level is sufficient);

  • Willingness to work day shifts;

  • Willingness to take part in a rotating on-call duty (for breakdowns/emergencies);

  • Preferably living within approximately 30 minutes from Diepholz;

  • Proactive, responsible, and safety-oriented mindset.
